Since it’s Cartober, I’m turning over the bulk of this newsletter to Mia Johnson-Martinez who heads up KWMR’s Car Donation program. “Donate Your Car to KWMR” has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? Be sure to watch the video!

I have heard from several fans of “Cruisin’” and “Saturday Night Function” wondering where the heck Jeff Wilkinson has gotten to. Jeff has given me permission to let folks know that he is dealing with a back injury and waiting to heal up and get a medical treatment before he can comfortably come to the station to do his show. He plans to join Jordan next Monday by phone to DJ his “Cruisin'” show. Stay tuned!

KWMR is having a Community Happy Hour Hang on Friday, October 16th from 5-7 PM. These are fun social events where you can come down and hang out at the station, see what it looks like, and enjoy a beverage and snack with some other KWMR fans, staff, and programmers. Hope you can make it.

Sincerely,

Amanda Eichstaedt
Station Manager and Executive Director

From Mia:

I learned something major from Amanda’s article in the Roundup last week. Magic 8 Balls have20 possible answers.20? That shocked me. I only remember two of them! I loved my Magic 8 ball as a kid too. But I feel like I always got “Reply hazy, try again” or “Ask again later.” Kind of checks out – I’ve always been a bit indecisive. If you’re like me, and strive to be more proactive in your decision-making this Fall, I’ve got a proposal for you: Donation > Procrastination!

Do you have a vehicle that could be donated to KWMR? Are you wrestling with the thought that you should hold onto it until the answer is completely & utterly clear whether you should keep it, sell it, or donate it? Here’s a nudge to check that decision off your list, and just go ahead and donate it to KWMR!

Donating a vehicle to KWMR this October 1-31 (AKA “CarTober”) will help KWMR reach our goal of 10 cars donated this month.

Is donating your car to KWMR 100% the perfect decision? Unknown.

Is donating your car to KWMR a really solid, simple, quick, environmentally-friendly choice that helps homegrown radio survive…provides a tax receipt for you… and offers free tow-away from anywhere in the US, whether the car’s running or not? It is decidedly so.

CarTober is here, and the future is clear.

Happy CarTober!

PS: Still craving clarity about the future? All is revealed in the video below, featuring me & KWMR Programmer, KWMR Board Vice-President & all-around-renaissance-woman Sharron Drake. Thanks Sharron, for always being game for things like this.

And thank you all, for the many ways that you support homegrown radio, all year round.

Sincerely,

Mia Johnson-Martinez
