This is a busy time of year. I want to shout out to our great community partners, the Dance Palace Community and Cultural Center and the Bolinas Community Land Trust. Both had amazing events this past Saturday where KWMR folks were in attendance. Hats off to both of these nonprofits for their valuable community work!
And KWMR started our Annual Pledge Drive this past Saturday as well. We got off to a slow start, probably because of the amazing weekend weather and so many other fun things going on, but we will be at it through May 1st. Please head over to KWMR.org’s Donate Page and search for your favorite shows or tune in and call the Pledge Line while we are covering phones. We would love to talk to you and take your contribution!
We have a big goal of $150,000, and you can see where we’re at toward that goal on the donate page. The more the merrier. Lots of small donations really do add up, so don’t be shy! And a big thank you to everyone who has gotten us this far with our fundraising! You rock.
Wow, that community open house last week during Happy Hour on April 17th was so much fun! Thanks to everyone who came out. If you missed it you have two more chances: Friday, April 24th from 5-7 pm with Liberacha hosting “Happy Hour” and Friday, May 1st from 5-7 with Magillicutty hosting “Happy Hour.” See you there!
And please join us for our 3rd annual KWMR Day on Saturday, May 2nd from noon to 4 PM at the Dance Palace outside on the great new back yard with the stage. There will be food booths including pizza, burgers, and Mexican fare and some tasty desserts and the KWMbaR! Arann Harris will kick things off with a set of music at noon. We have DJs, including LawlessSoundSystem, Cute Radio, and Betsy Nichols, and we’ll cap it all off with a No Talent Show (get on stage and try something new and different! It’s going to a a fun-filled family friendly event with activities for littles and bigs. Kid’s Zone and just a fun Saturday hang celebrating community!

- Friday, May 1 the last day of the exciting annual drive. Magillicutty is hosting. Let’s celebrate the successful drive! 5-7 PM. Yes, there will be snacks.
