Round Up: ”If It Ain’t Baroque”

“If It Ain’t Baroque”
⚡ March 3, 2026 ⚡
The only way we will ever drop “Sunday Baroque” is if they stop producing the show. You heard it here first. After we lost our federal funding last year when congress passed the Rescission Act of 2025, we did make some budgetary adjustments. One thing that we knew for sure would stay is “Sunday Baroque” which has been hosted and produced by Suzanna Bona since 1998. KWMR is one of 279 stations that air this program across the United States.
There are other music programs produced and syndicated that KWMR plays include “Sister Tiny’s Song and Dance,” “Stuck in the Psychedelic Era” with the Hermit, “Grateful Dead Hour,” “Radio Guethe” with Arndt Peltner, “The Latin Alternative,” “Cool Jazz Countdown,” and “Putumayo World Music,” to name a few.
Some great shows have stopped being produced including “Undercurrents,” a great music show that had a very good run and their last program played in 2023. “Live on KEXP” produced their last program on February 17, 2026. That show will be missed. And “Culture Caravan” , another program that has aired on KWMR, is ending production in June.
The KWMR schedule, now printed quarterly, is looking really good, but is constantly evolving. You can always see the most up to date schedule HERE. We know the schedule can be daunting, we even get tripped up and we work with it every day!
Along with our roster of over 100 volunteer programmers that produce over 60% of KWMR’s programming, there are folks that contribute audio pieces that you might here on some of our existing shows, such as Muriel Murch’s “Letter from A. Broad”, Claire Peaslee’s “Wonder Log”, various interviews and public service announcements from Johnny Dollar, and insights from Nicole Lavelle all heard on Jeff Manson’s “Curio Cabinet.”Â

I feature regular interviews on “The Lowdown” with the Point Reyes Inverness PTSA, Indivisible West Marin, West Marin Senior Services, Gallery Route One, The Dance Palace Community and Cultural Center, and others. And starting in a few weeks, I will feature contributions from “West Marin Feed.” Christian Anthony had a show on KWMR years ago, and we all know how busy he stays with “the feed.” We look forward to his contributions.
