“Community Is Where the Heart Is”

⚡ December 2, 2025 ⚡

Last Thursday as I strolled past West Marin Community Services – KWMR’s neighbor here in the Creamery Building, Sarah Thorpe popped her head out of the food pantry. “Hey, can you spread the word? We got a larger delivery than we were expecting and we need help to get this food to people so it doesn’t go bad.” WMCS would be closed on Thursday due to the holiday.

We posted on social media and as I walked through Point Reyes Station to get the mail, I let folks know. We alerted the West Marin Feed as well to help get the word out.

Later that afternoon I checked in with Sarah and she said that they were doing well and several folks had dropped in who had heard about the surplus food. Thankfully, this helped our neighbors.

This is really what it is all about. Using the airwaves, our voices talking to folks in person, sharing on social media, and asking folks to help us spread the word. Just like we all would do for one another if it wasn’t just an issue of extra food, but perhaps something a bit more dire.

I hope that everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving break and celebrated in whatever way made you happy. It was nice to have a few days off.

We have decided to postpone and reschedule our event at the Station House Cafe with Jesse DeNatale for sometime next spring when the days are longer and not quite so much is going on. We hope to see you out strolling Point Reyes Station for the Path of Lights this Friday, December 5th. We will update you when that fun event is back on the books.

Follow the Path of Lights from the Dance Palace to the Pharmacy, Toby's, former Station House, and Gallery Route One in Point Reyes Station

For the Path of Lights it is recommended that you start at the south end of town and swing into Gallery Route One around 4 PM to kick off the “path,” then stroll up to 11180 for the Winter Wonderland. After that hit Toby’s for the art show and refreshments. As you make your way north keep an eye out for merchants who are open late and swing in and say “hi!” When you get up to the north end, be sure to stop at Casa Corazon and the Pharmacy, then head for the Dance Palace where the craft fair is going on and West Marin School students will be singing at 6 PM.

Hope to see you out there on the streets!

Thank you for your support!
