Round Up: ”Giving Thanks”

“Giving Thanks”

⚡ November 25, 2025 ⚡

First off, if you got the “survey” email from KWMR and actually did the survey:Thank you! If you didn’t do the survey, that is also fine. We needed 75 in order to participate and get results (I hope we made it!). This is a national survey that KWMR has never before been able to afford. Due to the recent funding cuts to public broadcasters, we were invited to participate along with other smaller stations. We look forward to seeing the results. Like surveys? I love a good survey. It was kind of long and some folks found it maddening. I kinda liked it, but to be clear, I did not write it.

I love it when people support KWMR. Whether you slap a bumper sticker on your car or guitar case, “tip a show,” join the Calendar Club, donate your car, or offer to help KWMR with an event. There are MANY ways to support.

Big thanks to Gabe Korty for his support and throwing a Parachute Days for KWMR in October. He has another one coming up in Bolinas. Thanks to St. Columba’s for hosting my “Beacon of Light” talk. I was pretty much preaching to the choir, and it was great! Thanks to Griffo Distillery for a fun and sold out evening with the Space Orchestra

And thanks a bunch to Sheryl Cahill at the Station House Cafe for hosting a private event with KWMR on Thursday, December 4th from 5-8 PM. I am looking forward to this event. Not just because I like and respect Sheryl Cahill. This woman works tirelessly to support Point Reyes Station with not one, but two, fine eating establishments! And not just because I really like Jesse DeNatale’s tunes – he will play a few sets of music in this acoustically fine establishment. And not just because I like Griffo spirits which will be featured on the drink menu, but because I like getting together with folks who like to support KWMR.

Get your ticket soon since this is going to be a very fun event with food, drink, an inspiring and possibly unusual raffle, and music! You can dress up, or not. Bring a friend, or meet a new one! Hear what KWMR has going on and enjoy an evening out on the town. Think of it as an indoor, somewhat swanky tailgate party for the Path of Lights that happens the next day! With an intimate concert with Jesse.

I hope you can join us. It’s a great way to support the station. And if you have your root canal scheduled for that day and don’t want to drool in public, be sure to put Saturday, December 27th on your calendar. That is the day there will be two performances of “A Christmas Carol” at the Tomales Town Hall. One at 2PM and one at 6PM. Save the dates. Tickets go on sale at the beginning of December. We’ll remind you.

Speaking of root canals. Don’t you think it would be great if they had such a procedure for things like religious wars, political polarism, menopause, and foot pain? Then the world would be darn near perfect, except for that climate change stuff.

Ok, enough snideness. I really mean it when I say that folks that support KWMR mean the world to me, and to our entire team here at KWMR. And by “team,” I mean our stellar staff, our amazing Board of Directors, our Community Advisory Board, and all those fabulous volunteer programmers who bring you the shows that you love.

Thank you for your support!
